The Lobster House
Since it´s opening in 1995 the Lobster house has come to be known as a classic, romantic restaurant. The Lobster house is located in a house that was built in 1838 and has kept its original appearance ever since. This beautiful house has a rich history and was home to some of Iceland´s most influential people like Hannes Hafstein, Iceland´s first prime minister and a poet.
Fish Company
Through the years Reykjavik has seen some very good high-end fish restaurants open and become very popular with locals and visitors alike. The newest addition to the capital´s restaurant scene is the Fish Company restaurant (Icelandic: Fiskfélagið). Fish Company is located in the famous Zimzen building that dates back to 1884 but has recently been re-located and renovated under the supervision of Iceland´s Heritage Trust.
